Welcome
The Light Body of Yoga
Radiating the Light and Truth of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, by uniting our hearts, minds, souls and body through yoga. Yoga literally translates as "union or to yoke." Jesus said, "Come to me all who are heavy and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and let me teach you for I am humble and gentle in spirit. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light" Matthew 11:28-30.
How is His yoke considered light when a yoke was used as a heavy harness for oxen? The harness fit over the oxen for carrying objects which, if the oxen worked together, would create lightness because the harness would then balance the load. When we yoke ourselves to Our Source of Life, that doesn't mean our burdens go away but they become lighter when we rely on His strength, not our own, and when were are unified through Him.
Through yoga our heart, mind and body become lighter. Our burdens are lifted and we are elevated through connection to our God in Heaven.
1. Heart - Through experiential worship with yoga as the vehicle, we feel the love of our God in an authentic way. We are able to experience Him in His fullness, and breathe Him into our bodies. With every breath, our cardiovascular system (heart and lungs) circulates fresh oxygen enriched blood to every cell in our bodies.
2. Mind - Meditation on the Word deepens the experience and provides us with mental clarity and focus, understanding of Truth, and spiritual discernment.
3. Souls - We are called to be salt and light, to bring out God flavors of the people around us and shine a light into the darkness. Our spiritual connection provides us with the foundation to reflect that love and truth.
4. Body - The physical aspect of the worship experience improves our strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and coordination and promotes overall health and wellness through its cleansing and healing qualities.
To "love your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. And "love your neighbor as yourself," are two commandments Jesus told us to live by, without love it is nothing. It is only when we love ourselves and who we are created to be can we love our neighbor as ourselves. More than just the person next door or family and friends, this commandment calls us to love all humanity despite different beliefs. Holy Yoga is an experiential opportunity to unite with and radiate the Son of God's glory.
